What are you trying to do?

Get a notification when the assistant requests a send, and when a new message reaches a mailbox you follow.

Steps

  1. Turn on notifications on your device in “Security”: “Notifications on this device” in a browser, or “Notifications on this phone” in the app. Allow them when the browser or phone asks.

  2. Turn on “New-message notifications” for each mailbox with the bell beside it, on the folder page or the mailbox page. They do not work for a mailbox you have not turned them on for.

  3. Choose what shows on the lock screen: the sender, subject and a line of the message, or “New message” only.

What can go wrong

“Notifications are not available at the moment.” Notifications are paused in the service at that moment. Follow send requests on the “Approvals” page, which refreshes by itself.

“Notifications are blocked for this site in the browser settings.” Allow them there, then come back and turn them on.

“This browser does not support web notifications.” On an iPhone, add the site to the home screen first, then open it from there.

“Notifications are blocked for this app.” Open the phone’s Settings → Warsha Emails → Notifications and allow them.

New-mail notifications do not arrive at certain hours. You may have set “Quiet hours”: no new-mail notifications between the two times you chose, in your device’s time zone. The messages themselves still arrive and wait for you.

Something you won’t expect

A notification does not carry your whole message, and nothing of it is stored in the browser. What shows on the lock screen passes through Google’s or Apple’s notification service depending on your device — if you do not want the sender and subject to show, choose “New message” only.

The “Morning summary” can reach you once a day, at a time you choose, with what is waiting for you — instead of a notification for every message.
